I ran an E90 330i for 4 years and about 55k miles. It was a 55 plate with an auto box running the N52 (258bhp) - that engine was rock solid and I never had a bad experience with it. I think the later 330i's, 07 onwards, came with the N53 putting out a little more power @ 272bhp IIRC - no experience with those though
Ignition coils: $169 every 40,000 to 90,000 miles. Walnut blasting: $400-600 every 100,000+ miles. Costs can add up a little more if you’re having all BMW B48 maintenance done at the dealer or a repair shop. The walnut blasting is mostly labor as quoted above; it’s nearly free if you can DIY the job.

28950 posts · Joined 2009. #9 · Oct 22, 2016. Make sure the flap from the lower intake boot did not fold under and is sticking inside and obstructing the throttle plate. Just split the intake boots at the center coupler, use a flashlight and look down inside the lower intake boot and make sure the boot is properly installed.
